Synopsis

When Sophie Adams, a high school track star, goes blind from a track accident, she must rely on her little brother, Freddie, to help her accept this new chapter in her life. Because of Freddie's constant desire to be like a do-gooder cowboy, Wild Pete, he helps his sister realize what’s important in life and how to move forward with her blindness.

Just Like Wild Pete is a thesis film, directed by Jade Hewitt, for the MFA program at the University of New Orleans. The film was finished in the fall of 2015 and will be entered into film festivals throughout 2016.

 

Jade Hewitt is a 3rd year graduate student at the University of New Orleans who just finished her work towards an M.F.A in Film Production. She grew up in Mandeville, Louisiana and went to Fontainebleau High School from 2004-2008. She then went on to graduate from Millsaps College in 2012 with a BA in Studio Arts, a concentration in Digital Arts, and a minor in Art History.
